Joe Root Finally Got Into a Team in the IPL Auction 2023

Joe Root was bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs.1 crore in the IPL 2023 auction in Kochi on Friday. In the initial run, he remained unsold but later bid and signed for RR in the accelerated auction.

The player was sold for a base price of Rs.1 crore. And no teams even made bids. The only team bid for Joe Root is Rajasthan Royals.

He remained unsold in the 2018 IPL auction and has never featured in the T20 league. Root was a little away from the T20 plays. He last played in the T20 format for England in May 2019.

However, Root was a key player in England’s runner-up finish in the 2016 T20 World Cup. He scored 249 runs and his average was 49.8. His strike rate for the tournament was 146.47.
