Rishabh Pant is one of the most exciting batsmen in today’s game. His gutsy approach has changed the outcome of numerous games for Team India. Pant was instrumental in India’s series victory over Australia in the previous series.
However, the wicketkeeper-batsmanbatsman was involved in a car collision with the divider last month. He was hospitalized and then transferred to Kokilaben hospital, where he is recovering.
Former India World Cup-winning captain and cricket icon Kapil Dev, on the other hand, has made a statement that he wants to slap Rishabh Pant as soon as he recovers from his injury.
This unexpected statement from a renowned Indian cricketer has completely taken come as surprise. Kapil Dev said that after Rishabh Pant recovers, he plans to slap him and wish him a speedy recovery.
Rishabh Pant will most likely miss the rest of the season as he heals from his injuries. On December 30, he got in a terrible vehicle accident on his way home to Roorkee to surprise his mother for the New Year.
Kapil Dev also added, “I love him very much. I want him to get well and when he gets well If you go, I will go and slap you hard because take care of yourself. Look, your injury has spoiled the combination of the whole team.”
Pant’s absence from Border-Gavaskar Trophy will undoubtedly be felt by team India, particularly in Tests, where the young wicketkeeper batter has already achieved legendary status.
Rishabh Pant also shared a glimpse of his recovery journey with his fans on Tuesday via an Instagram story. “Never knew just being able to sit out and breathe fresh air feels so blessed,” the 25-year-old batter wrote.
For the pre-series picture shoot, Pat Cummins and Rohit Sharma posed alongside the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The first match of the Border-Gavaskar trophy will start on 9 February at Nagpur cricket stadium.
The starting lineup for the first game has yet to be announced by captain Rohit Sharma. Because Rishabh Pant is out, wicket-keeper batsman Srikar Bharat may finally get a chance, and that too against Australia.
In the absence of Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant, India must fill two positions for the first Test at Nagpur. Shubman Gill or Suryakumar Yadav are anticipated to replace Iyer at No. 5.
Over the last several years, home Tests have featured dramatically turning tracks, and India is sticking to its principles. While the surface was covered with green on Monday, there were brown areas available.
