After a few underwhelming performances in previous IPL seasons, Sunrisers Hyderabad has made some significant personnel changes this time around. The club’s skipper is Aiden Markram, and Mayank Agarwal and Harry Brook are important signings for the IPL 2023.
After a sustained climb to the top of the IPL standings from 2015 to 2019, Sunrisers Hyderabad has been in decline over the previous few seasons. They have just ended outside of the play-off places. And for the IPL 2023, they have made some significant roster changes.
The greatest change was Kane Williamson’s departure as their skipper for IPL 2022. The New Zealand batsman signed the Gujarat Titans, who are the current champions.
Williamson will be replaced as Sunrisers Hyderabad’s captain by Aiden Markram. He is a wise pick for captain because he won the first SA20 tournament with Sunrisers Eastern Cape, SRH’s sister team.
Mayank Agarwal, whom they acquired at the bidding for Rs 8.25 crore, is another significant addition to their roster. He assumes the team’s opening batsman position right away.
After a tremendous season in the IPL 2022, Abhishek Sharma will probably begin the batting with Mayank. With 426 runs from 14 games, the inexperienced Indian hitter led the team in scoring during the previous season of the lucrative league. He’ll be hoping to build on his success in the IPL 2023 as well.
Rahul Tripathi also had a successful IPL 2022 season, scoring 413 runs and earning a spot on the Indian team. He will thus play a significant role in SRH’s ascent to the third spot. The team’s captain, Aiden Markram, will be ranked at position four.
Harry Brook, an all-format great for England, was Sunrisers Hyderabad’s largest IPL 2023 acquisition. He cost them a staggering Rs 13.5 crore. As the fifth batter, SRH will benefit from his powerful striking.
Henrich Klaasen has played superbly for South Africa and the SA20. He ought to replace Glenn Philips as the SRH team’s starting wicketkeeper as a result.
Now that he is fully well, Washington Sundar, whose tenure at SRH has been marred by injuries, will be a valued thing to the squad with both bat and ball.
Adil Rashid is an English leg spinner who will be playing in his first IPL season. He has been identified by SRH as the perfect substitute for Rashid Khan. He has been absent from the squad since last summer.
A trio of Indian bowlers will probably be there for Sunrisers Hyderabad. In conjunction with seasoned seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik will spearhead the assault with his raw speed. The third bowler in the SRH team will be T Natarajan, a stalwart of the IPL.
