Michael Bracewell replaces Will Jacks, IPL 2023: Michael Bracewell has been signed by the Royal Challengers Bangalore as a replacement for the injured Will Jacks who withdrew from IPL 2023. Bracewell will join the team for INR 1 crore, his auction base price, according to a BCCI statement.
Meanwhile, Rachin Ravindra will replace Bracewell in New Zealand’s upcoming three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka following the ongoing Test series.
New Zealand head coach Gary Stead said Bracewell has been a key contributor to their white-ball teams since his debut last year.
He added it’s great that players are getting more experience in Indian conditions, especially with the upcoming World Cup.

IPL 2023: Bracewell, replacement, or upgrade?
Michael Bracewell, equally skilled with bat and ball, has played for New Zealand in 7 Tests, 19 ODIs, and 16 T20Is. He has scored 2284 runs and taken 40 wickets with an economy rate of 6.52 in 117 T20 matches.
Bracewell joins a star-studded overseas lineup at Royal Challengers, including Faf du Plessis, Wanindu Hasaranga, Josh Hazlewood, Glenn Maxwell, Reece Topley, David Willey, and Finn Allen.
Will Jacks, who has never played in the IPL, sustained a muscle injury while fielding in England’s second ODI against Bangladesh in Dhaka.

After scans and consultation with a specialist, he had to withdraw. Upon learning of his exit from IPL on March 15, he tweeted, “Gutted. I’ll be back.”
The Royal Challengers will play their first game of the season against Mumbai Indians on April 2 at their home ground M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, for the first time since May 2019 due to Covid-19.
Jack’s injury is a setback for the team, but they remain optimistic about their chances in the upcoming season. With the return to their home ground, the Royal Challengers Bangalore are eager to put on a show for their fans and make a strong start to the season.
