PSL 2023: Dismissing Pakistan Captain Babar Azam on a duck is a rare sight to see in a cricket match. The former Pakistani fast bowler achieved this feat in a PSL game between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi.
Babar Azam led Peshawar Zalmi elected to bat first in the heated clash against his former team Karachi Kings in the 17th match of the tournament held at the Rawalpindi Stadium.
Peshawar did not start well as their top order collapsed during the early stages of the game. Former Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir took three wickets in the opening spell of the match dismissing Babar, Harris, and Saim Ayyub.
After losing early wickets, Peshawar managed to put up a total of 197 runs on the board. Mohammad Amir was the only Bowler from Karachi who looked great, taking 4 wickets in 4 overs with an economy of 6.50.

However, Karachi could not chase down the massive target put up by Peshawar and lost by 24 runs. Only two of Karachi’s batsmen could go over 20+ scores, others remained below. Mohammad Amir finally settled scores against star batter Azam.
Prior to the team’s PSL opener against the Peshawar franchise, Amir had grabbed attention by drawing a comparison between bowling to Babar and facing a tailender. During the match, Babar struck some amazing shots against Amir and the bowler eventually ended with dismal figures of 0/42 in four overs.
During Wednesday’s match, Amir delivered an electrifying start to the Kings by dismissing Zalmi openers Mohammad Haris and Babar Azam on duck within the first over.
