IND vs AUS: Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami who missed out on the third test match could reportedly be back in the playing XI for the final test match against Australia. The right-arm fast bowler was not part of the losing side in Indore because of workload management.
The fourth and final match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy will start on the 9th of march when India will be looking to seal their spot for the World Test Championship final. The last year’s WTC runners-up lost the third test match against the Aussies because of poor batting performances from their incredibly talented batting lineup.
India struggled on a pitch that greatly favored spinners, getting dismissed for 109 and 163 in their two innings. Australia easily achieved the target of 75 runs with 9 wickets in hand. This victory confirmed Australia’s spot in the World Test Championship final.
The fourth test match will be played at the newly constructed Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad where the Indian side have a winning percentage of 100, winning two out of their two matches against England in 2021.

IND vs AUS: Mohammed Shami could replace Mohammad Siraj for the fourth test
The Indian team management seems to be going towards the winning combination that helped them win the first two Tests of the series. As a result, Shami was replaced by Umesh Yadav for the third test and could be back in the team in place of Siraj.
As per a report by PTI, the Indian team management has decided, after consulting with the medical staff, to manage the workload of pace bowlers who are going to participate in the IPL and also form a part of the ODI World Cup plans.
In accordance with this plan, Shami, who played in the first two Tests and is also part of the ODI squad, was rested for the third game. As a replacement, Umesh Yadav was brought in as the second pacer after Mohammed Siraj.
According to the report, Siraj has only taken one wicket in the first three games, bowling a total of 24 overs. As a result, Umesh Yadav, who performed better in Indore and is not part of the white ball squad, is likely to be given a chance to open the bowling with Shami in Ahmedabad.
However, Siraj who could miss the fourth test match will likely be featured in the three-match ODI series against Australia right after the test concluded.
