MS Dhoni IPL: For quite some time, rumors of MS Dhoni’s retirement from the Indian Premier League (IPL) have circulated. Dhoni will captain the Chennai Super Kings again in Indian Premier League 2023.
Although MS Dhoni hinted at retirement on multiple occasions. Dhoni has already begun practicing for the new season, and fans will be able to see him play at Chennai’s Chepauk Stadium once more.
Former CSK star batsman Suresh Raina has commented on Dhoni’s retirement, saying that the ex-India captain may end up playing in the competition next year.
“I wish he could, but we’ll have to see what his commitments are. He can play the IPL next year as well, you never know. He’s been batting well and looking fit.” Suresh Raina said in the latest interaction.

Suresh Raina feels Ruturaj Gaikad will succeed MS Dhoni as captain
CSK was placed in a bind when Ravindra Jadeja quit as captain in the middle of the season last year and handed over the reins to MS Dhoni, who is preparing to lead CSK in the IPL 2023.
MS Dhoni’s final season in the IPL will most likely be in 2023. With Jadeja no longer an option, CSK signed England Test captain Ben Stokes for the coming years. But, former batsman Suresh Raina wants Ruturaj Gaikwad as Dhoni’s successor.
Gaikwad, who had a slow start to his IPL career in 2020, made amends with three half-centuries in a row before winning the Orange Cap in CSK’s title-winning season in 2021, hitting 635 runs.
“He has done really well this season and I want him to do well for the country as well as Chennai Super Kings. Rutu, good luck with your captaincy brother!“, Raina said about Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Former Australia all-rounder Shane Watson shared an emotional moment when Indian cricket icon MS Dhoni reunited with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) squad after a two-year ban in the IPL 2018.
MS Dhoni has been with the CSK since the first season of the IPL, but the franchise was banned in 2016 and 2017, making MSD play for another team (Pune Super Giants) in the tournament.
Shane Watson, who won the IPL trophy with CSK when the franchise returned to the tournament in 2018, stated that Dhoni became emotional after the team met. The Australian also mentioned how valuable his time with the CSK was.
The 16th season of the Indian Premier League will begin on March 31 and end on May 28, 2023. The much-anticipated competition will begin with a match between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings.
