As far as his ODI career is concerned, he played 104 matches so far. Notably, he aggregated 2477 runs at an average of 32.6. He scored two centuries and 14 fifties to his credit.
It is worth mentioning here that the Mumbai-born cricketer has the highest career batting average for an Indian Test cricketer of 54. On the other hand, he played his last Test match when he was just 23 years old.

For the unversed, Vinod Kambli became the first-ever player to score a hundred in the 50-over format on his birthday. Vinod Kambli played for Team India as a left-handed middle-order batter.
Besides that, he also played for Mumbai and Boland, South Africa. Hailing from Indira Nagar in Mumbai, Vinod Kambli is a childhood friend of the Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.
Mumbai Police files an FIR against Vinod Kambli
Meanwhile, Vinod Kambli made the headlines for all the wrong reasons. He came under fire for reportedly abusing and assaulting his wife and for this, Mumbai Police even registered an FIR against him.
However, he is not arrested in the first place. Reports added that Bandra police confirmed that Vinod was booked under two IPL sections.
Vinod Kambli was booked under IPC section 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace).
Meanwhile, the former cricketer has not been arrested. As things stand, further investigation is currently underway. The incident happened somewhere between 1:00-1.30 pm on Friday as per a report from TOI.
The former cricketer reached his flat and was heavily under the influence of alcohol. In addition, he also forcefully threw the handle of a cooking pan at his wife.
It was because of this, she picked up a head injury. An official from Bandra police station confirmed it. Their 12-year-old son who watched the incident in front of his eyes intervened to stop the fight.
