Rishabh Pant plies his trade as a wicketkeeper-batsman for the Indian national cricket team. Needless to say, Rishabh Pant has been going through a rough phase of late.
During the T20 World Cup 2022, Dinesh Karthik was chosen ahead of Rishabh Pant. The team management decided to stick to the experience factor in the first place.
However, Rishabh Pant got a chance to make his presence count after Dinesh Karthik picked up an injury during the game against Bangladesh in the marquee event.
Nonetheless, Pant failed to score runs in the opportunities he got during the T20 World Cup. In fact, he came under fire for getting dismissed for cheap scores.

The BCCI needs to lay out a proper plan now so that the players get ready to compete in the T20 World Cup 2024. Moreover, it is important to give an ideal batting position for Rishabh Pant and groom him for the next T20 World Cup.
Pant should come out to bat at No.3 because his best performances in the IPL came in that batting position. With Virat Kohli not part of the team plans in the T20I format next year as per reports, the BCCI should experiment with Pant at No.3 and groom him as a match-winner in that batting position.
NZ vs IND: Shikhar Dhawan Reveals Why It Is Important To Back Rishabh Pant
Meanwhile, during the post-match presentation, after the third ODI between India and New Zealand, Shikhar Dhawan opened up on Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson.
He also went on to reveal why it is important to back Pant in the first place. Dhawan praised Pant’s skills by calling him a ‘match-winner’.
“Sanju Samson has been doing really well with the opportunities he got. But sometimes you’ve to wait, we know on Pant’s skills that he’s a match-winner. So you need to back him,” Shikhar Dhawan said at the post-match presentation.
