When playing on a spin-friendly track in any version of cricket in India, the opposition teams are always vocal in their criticisms. They attempted to demolish the pitch as unusable, dangerous, and unfit for cricket.

However, bowler Michael Bracewell of New Zealand did not voice any of these grievances. Following his squad’s defeat by India in the poorly-scored second T20I of the three-match series. It was conducive to spin at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Ground in Lucknow.

Suryakumar Yadav hit Blair Tickner over the middle for four runs. He tied the three-match tournament at one apiece with three runs needed off two balls. No sixes were struck by either team’s hitters throughout the match. It saw bowlers from both sides bowl 30 of the 40 overs.

However, ex-India left-handed hitter Gautam Gambhir and fast-bowling all-rounder James Neesham were the targets of questions about the characteristics of the Lucknow pitch. Bracewell did not complain about the ground.

He said they had learned from these games. Despite the fact that he acknowledged he wouldn’t want to compete on such a field frequently.

In the post-game media briefing, Bracewell observed, “It’s definitely not a wicket that you’d want to compete on every single time you take on a Twenty-20.” “But once in a while is a wonderful chance to experiment and try to enhance your talents.”

“We are unable to complain. The challenge of playing on these various wickets is thrilling, according to Bracewell.

“You don’t get a genuine test of your talents.” If you compete on a pitch like that or one that is flat all the time. “In my opinion, a diversity of wickets all around the world is a good thing,” Bracewell continued.

“I believe that both sides demonstrated how well the spinners threw and how difficult it was to score.” That is undoubtedly reflected in the fact that no sixes were scored during the contest. It was not an ordinary surface to bat on. And the match was highly entertaining, but perhaps a little different from what we would often anticipate from a Twenty20 match.

As spinners delivered 17 of the Black Caps’ 19.5 overs, New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner himself twisted his elbow over due to the ball’s extreme spin.

“It was certainly something unusual,” Santner said. “I was trying to locate them [spinners] from all around, and I was planning on asking Lockie [Ferguson] if he could throw some off-spin.”
