NZ vs ENG: England’s national cricket team are currently in New Zealand for an important Test assignment. The Three Lions played a practice game against New Zealand XI in a two-day warm-up game at Seddon Park, Hamilton.
The match ended in a draw. Meanwhile, the action shifted to the two-match Test series. The first Test match is currently taking place at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui.
New Zealand skipper Tim Southee won the toss and invited Ben Stokes and Co to bat first. The visitors managed to put up a decent total on the board in the first innings.
England’s opening batsman Ben Duckett scored runs at a rate of knots. He aggregated 84 off only 68 balls with bazball approach including 14 boundaries at a strike rate of 123.53.
Harry Brook continued his good touch with the bat as he scored 89 off 81 balls. He constructed his innings with the help of 15 boundaries and a six, at a strike rate of 109.88.

England cricket team declared the innings at 325 for the loss of nine wickets. Tim Southee accounted for two dismissals during the passage of the play.
During England’s innings, Joe Root hogged the limelight after he perfectly executed a reverse scoop shot off Neil Wagner’s bowling. The video clip has gone viral.
Joe Root was looking good at the crease after he played two good shots, smashing two boundaries. As it turned out, he ended up falling prey to Neil Wagner’s delivery as he departed for 14 runs.
On the other side of the coin, Neil Wagner was the pick of the bowlers for the New Zealand cricket team. He took four wickets to his name in the first innings.
