PAK VS ENG: Pakistan is hosting England in a three-match Test series with the World Test Championship final on the line. The opening game is set to take place at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Thursday, December 1.

The fifth Test series Pakistan has played in the current WTC cycle will be against England; their last series will be two Tests they will play at home against New Zealand in December 2022 and January 2023. 

For the first time in 17 years, England is travelling to Pakistan for a Test series. In 2005, when they last travelled to Pakistan, Michael Vaughan led the team in a 2-0 loss.

They surpassed India’s previous record of 158 in 27 overs set against Afghanistan four years ago. In 23.3 overs, England scored the same total. Day one’s first lunch saw both openers remain unbeaten, scoring 91 and 77 runs, respectively.

Before lunch on the first day of a Test match, Crawley was just nine runs away from becoming the first batsman to reach a century for England. In the 145-year history of Test cricket, only four Australians, one Pakistani, and one Indian have held this record.

On the first day of the Test match, the right-handed batter finished a quick-fire century after lunch. In his first test in six years, Duckett displayed the same aggressiveness and notched his first test century.

While England made their Test debuts with Liam Livingstone and Will Jacks, Pakistan’s pacers Haris Rauf and Mohammad Ali, spinner Zahid Mahmood, and batter Saud Shakeel all received their first caps.
