Pakistan mocks Abhinandan, PSL 2023: Pakistan are usually not known for smartness and they proved it once again with their recent behaviour during the ongoing edition of the Pakistan Super League.
During the PSL 2023 season, Lahore Qalandars, one of the franchises in the tournament came under fire for displaying an image of Abhinandan Varthaman on the large screen.
The picture of the same went viral on social media portals. On February 27, a picture featuring Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan Varthaman was displayed on the big screen.
The picture was displayed with the sole purpose to mock India India. The image was shown during a Pakistan Super League game between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United.
During the course of the game, an image of the Indian Air Force hero drinking a cup of tea was displayed on the big screen during the mid-game break.
It is absolutely not advisable to bring politics into this gentleman’s game. It is totally unacceptable by any means. Fans on Twitter slammed Pakistan and the franchise for coming up with a cheap act.
PSL 2023: Pakistan mocks Abhinandan Varthaman by putting his image of drinking tea on the large screen
The tweet was directed to Indian fighter pilot Abhinandan Varthaman, who was captured by the Pakistani army in the year 2019.
The incident happened when the MiG-21 plane in which Abinandan was travelling crashed during a surgical strike in Pakistan.
During his time in Pakistan, a video clip featuring him went viral on the internet. The video clip started with Abhinandan thanking Pakistani officials for how well they treated him.
When he was offered tea, he said, “Thank you, the tea is great.” Ever since his statement, the phrase “tea is great” generated a truckload of memes in Pakistan.
Very often, the people in Pakistan used to make fun of India. We have seen fans using this meme quite often on social media portals.

Meanwhile, one of the fans took to Twitter and wrote, “Questions in favor of Ind-Pak Cricket match: Why mix cricket with politics? Why hate cricket? Why against income of Cricket? Meanwhile, a PSL match has literally showed #AbhinandanVarthaman drinking tea! PS: Abhinandan not only destroyed the aircraft of Pak but also their ego.”
