PSL 2023: Lahore Qalandars secured a remarkable last-ball victory over Multan Sultans to clinch their second consecutive Pakistan Super League (PSL) title in Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
With this victory, Shaheen Afridi made history by becoming the first captain to win back-to-back PSL titles, and the Lahore Qalandars team erupted in celebrations as soon as Khushdil Shah was run out on the final ball of the match.
With Multan Sultans needing 13 runs to win off the final over, captain Shaheen Afridi handed the ball to the young Zaman Khan. Zaman Khan gave away just 11 runs in the over, playing a vital role in his team’s stunning one-run victory.
In the final delivery of the match, Multan Sultans required 4 runs to secure a win. Although the batsmen managed to complete two runs, the throw from Tim Wiese was right on target and quick enough to dismiss Khushdil Shah, resulting in a run-out and ensuring Lahore Qalandars’ victory by one run.

PSL 2023: Celebrations erupt after Lahore Qalandars win PSL Title
Lahore Qalandars won the toss and elected to bat first. They posted a solid total of 200/6, with Abdullah Shafique being the top scorer for the team, scoring 65 off 40 balls.
Shaheen Afridi played a superb cameo at the end, smashing 44 off just 15 balls. While Fakhar Zaman contributed 39 runs and Mirza Baig scored 30 runs.

Coming down to chase a massive total, Multan Sulans’ Rilee Rossouw scored another half-century for Multan Sultans while their captain Mohammad Rizwan slammed 34 off just 23 deliveries.
The Sultans were able to keep up with the required run rate, but Shaheen Afridi emerged as the pick of the bowlers for Lahore Qalandars, taking four wickets in the match. Despite their efforts, Multan Sultans fell just short of the target and lost the match by one run.
The left-arm pacer played a crucial role in their victory by taking the wickets of Tim David, Kieron Pollard, Anwar Ali, and Usama Mir. Additionally, spinner Rashid Khan also helped the team’s cause by taking 2 wickets for 26 runs. Their combined efforts restricted Multan Sultans to 199/8 in their chase of 201 runs.
Lahore Qalandars Skipper Shaheen Afridi bagged the Man Of The Match performance for his all-round performance in the match. He was also the fourth-leading wicket-taker in the tournament with 19 wickets.
Mohammad Rizwan was the leading run-scorer in the tournament with 550 runs in 12 innings in the tournament.
