Ravichandran Ashwin No. 1 Test bowler: India’s veteran cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin has been recently making waves as far as the longest format of the game is concerned.

The veteran off-spinner recently scripted history after he became the fastest Indian bowler to account for 450 dismissals in the red ball cricket.

He even went past legendary Kapil Dev to achieve the feat. It is worth mentioning here that, he bowled superb bowling spells for India for more than a decade.

Besides that, he also delivered the goods with the bat for the Indian cricket team. The fact that he has scored five centuries and 13 fifties goes to show his handy batting skills.

He is currently engaged in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy series against the Australian national cricket team. Ravichandran Ashwin has bagged a total of 14 wickets in three matches so far.

He is yet to get a wicket in the ongoing third Test match against Australia. The third Tes between India and Australia is taking place at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore.

Meanwhile, in the latest development, Ravichandran Ashwin scripted history as he replaced James Anderson to become the No.1 bowler in the ICC Test bowlers’ rankings.

For the unversed, Ravichandran Ashwin is the third Test bowler in as many weeks to take the No.1 position after James Anderson replaced Australia, captain Pat Cummins.

Australian sipper Pat Cummins is currently at the No.3 spot. Ashwin climbed to the top spot after bagging as many as 6 wickets during India’s victory over Australia in the second Test match at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

On the other hand, James Anderson slipped to the No.2 post after the England cricket team lost to New Zealand by one run in Wellington.
