Harbhajan Singh, a veteran bowler for India and the Chennai Super Kings, believes that ace all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja would be the X factor for the four-time winners in the 2018 Indian Premier League.
After missing many months of top-tier cricket due to knee operations, Jadeja has completed an effective comeback, contributing significantly to India’s 2-1 victory over Australia in the four-Test series in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2022–23.
After a difficult campaign last year, the seasoned all-rounder is expected to play a crucial role for CSK as skipper after MS Dhoni, the team’s longtime skipper, decided to stand down.
But Jadeja, who has featured for Chennai since 2012, struggled as captain. After losing six of the team’s first eight games, Jadeja resigned from his position as captain. Dhoni then took over as captain again, a position he will hold through the 2023 IPL.

On March 31, the IPL 2023 will get underway when the Chennai Super Kings take on the reigning champion Gujarat Titans.
Harbhajan Comments on Jadeja:
According to Harbhajan, everybody must pay attention to Ravindra Jadeja, mainly how he plays for CSK. He has his four overs and might be moved up the order. From the standpoint of world cricket, I don’t believe there is a better all-arounder than him.
I am eager to watch Ravindra Jadeja in the IPL. Ravindra Jadeja, who has excelled both as a spinner and a batsman in these surroundings, will be my key element.
He has been performing there for so long. He will thus, in my opinion, be the side’s X factor. Former CSK player and ex-Indian spinner claimed Dhoni is still the team’s driving force. The captain, MS Dhoni, is this team’s greatest asset. He is the soul of the group.
He is arguably the greatest individual who can make the most of each team member because he is well familiar with the group. The spin legend claims that players like Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali, Devon Conway, and Maheesh Theekshana would be crucial to their IPL 2023 campaign.
Initially, I would choose Theekshana over Pathirana since Theekshana will be more useful in Chennai. I would also choose Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali, and Conway, of course.
Nevertheless, if the game is played in Mumbai against the Mumbai Indians, I will pick Pathirana. Since he bowls very much like Malinga and spin doesn’t matter as much there. Conway, Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali, and Theekshana would be his choice among the four foreign players, he said.
