Sam Curran : England’s young all-rounder Sam Curran has been in scintillating form with the ball for a long time now. He played a substantial role in the team’s success in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.
The youngster was named the man of the tournament for his impeccable bowling performances. He accounted for 13 dismissals throughout the competition.
Rightly so, he won the player of the tournament award. Meanwhile, Sam Curran is currently part of the ongoing ODI series against South Africa.
England’s tour of South Africa consists of three ODIs. The first ODI took place at Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein. South Africa drew first blood in the series by beating England by 27 runs.
The second ODI also took place at the same venue. The hosts once again got the better of the Three Lions and won the series by 2-0, with one more game to be played.
The third and final ODI between South Africa and England will kick off on February 1. It is just a few hours away from getting underway at Diamond Oval, Kimberley.
During the second ODI, Sam Curran made the headlines after he was spotted excessively celebrating the dismissal of Temba Bavuma.
The video clip of Sam Curran wildly celebrating the dismissal has gone viral on the internet. Sam Curran got rid of Temba Bavuma and then celebrated in a crazy manner by going close to him.
Earlier, England scored 342/7 in their quota of 50 overs. Skipper Jos Buttler top-scored with 94 off 82 balls including 8 fours and 3 sixes to his credit.
Harry Brook scored 80 off 75 balls including seven fours and four sixes to his name. On the other hand, Proteas chased down the target in 49.1 overs and won the game by 5 wickets.
