Virat Kohli’s incredible 186 set up a thrilling last day of the fourth Test against Australia in Ahmedabad. The brilliant inning ended the nearly 40-month wait for his 28th Test century.

“Kohli should continue playing and should stop hearing the criticism he faces quite often.,” Shoaib remarked, advising Virat to focus on his game.

“I would advise Kohli to stop playing T20I and just focus on ODIs and Tests. He is an exciting player in the middle and I think, T20Is take a lot of energy and he needs to save it now. If he does so, he’s just 34 and can easily play 6-8 years from now.”, Shoaib Akhtar added.

Following a 2-1 series triumph against Australia, Rohit Sharma and company advanced to their second ICC World Test Championship final in a row. Akhtar has predicted that Virat Kohli will break Sachin Tendulkar’s 100 centuries record in world cricket.

Shoaib Akhtar said that even if Virat Kohli plays 50 Tests he can easily hit 25 hundreds. Virat has 75 international centuries to his name, trailing only Sachin Tendulkar’s 100 hundreds.

With India hosting the next 50-over World Cup in 2023, a lot will be expected of Virat Kohli. Virat ended his century drought in international cricket on September 8, 2022, during the Asia Cup 2022 match against Afghanistan.

He then ended his ODI century drought on December 10, 2022, during the third ODI against Bangladesh. He scored 113 in 91 balls, ending a 1,116-day ODI ton drought.

In 108 Tests for Team India, the 34-year-old has scored 8,416 runs. An in-form Virat Kohli will lead India’s batting effort against Australia in the Test Championship final at The Oval.

Former cricketer Virender Sehwag is regarded as one of the most destructive batsmen of all time. He explained why he did not take over as Team India’s head coach when Anil Kumble stepped down.

Sehwag, a 50-over World Cup winner, set numerous records during his dazzling career, including the highest Test score by an Indian, 319 against South Africa in Chennai.

Many fans are unaware that Sehwag was also contacted to take over as Team India’s head coach. Yesterday, the former cricketer stated why he did not accept the post, which eventually went to Ravi Shastri.

He also discussed his meeting with the BCCI for the position of head coach. “I wouldn’t have applied if Virat Kohli and then BCCI secretary Amitabh Choudhary hadn’t approached me,” Sehwag said in a recent interaction.
