Young cricketer Shubman Gill is one of the brightest prospects of the Indian cricket team. The right-handed batsman has been making most of the chances to better effect.

Whenever he has been given the opportunity to play, it is good that he is making his presence count on the pitch. Shubman Gill was recently featured in India’s tour of Zimbabwe.

Shubman Gill hogged the limelight when he scored a terrific century in the third and final ODI against Zimbabwe, in what happened to be his maiden ODI century.

So far, Shubman Gill has played 11 Tests and 9 One-Day Internationals for Team India. Overall, the 22-year-old scored 579 runs in the longest format of the game.

Notably, the young cricketer slammed 4 fifties in Tests, registering his personal best score of 91 against Australia at The Gabba in Brisbane.

On the other hand, Shubman Gill scored 499 runs in the 50-over format at an outstanding batting average of 71.3. Shubman Gill slammed 3 fifties and 1 century, registering his career-best score of 130 against Zimbabwe.

Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer, Yuvraj Singh made a bold prediction on Shubman Gill in the lead-up to the ICC ODI 2023 World Cup tournament.

According to Yuvraj Singh, Gill is a strong contender to open for the Indian cricket team in the ICC ODI 2023 World Cup.

The former Indian cricketer added that Gill has performed considerably well for India. He reckons that Shubman Gill is a strong contender to open for the Indian team in the upcoming marquee event.

“I think Shubman is doing very well and is performing consistently. I believe he is a strong contender to open for India in the 2023 World Cup,” Yuvraj was quoted as saying by the news agency PTI.

“Shubman is very hardworking and is doing all the right things. I believe he is destined for greatness in the next 10 years,” Yuvraj Singh added in a statement.
