WPL 2023: Simran Shaikh’s parents reminisce about her cricket career

She rose through the ranks of UP Warriorz after growing up in Dharavi, one of the world’s largest slums. People now applaud every time she appears on their television screens.
Simran Shaikh’s father Jahid Ali said, “When my daughter was small she was interested in playing cricket. Whenever she used to play cricket on the ground a lot of people used to scold her and say a lot of things.”
Her father initially didn’t believe that she would be able to reach such a level. “No, I didn’t think that. We are poor people at that time. we were not in a condition to help our daughter.”
Simran Shaikh’s mother, Akhtari Bano, didn’t think her daughter could play at such a high level. Akhtari Bano also describes the family’s sentiments during the auction for the Women’s Premier League.

WPL 2023: Mumbai Indians defeated Gujarat Giants by 55 runs to qualify for the playoffs

Mumbai Indians maintained their excellent record by defeating Gujarat Giants by 55 runs in the Women’s Premier League match at Brabourne Stadium on Tuesday.
Harmanpreet Kaur led the team by smashing 51 runs from 30 balls, while Yastika Bhatia and Nat Sciver-Brunt also contributed significantly. Sciver scored 36 (31), while Bhatia scored 44 (37).
