Sunil Narine scripts history: West Indies international Sunil Narine is one of the most productive spinners in the shortest format of the game. The right-arm mystery spinner has been involved in several franchise T20 cricket leagues across the world.

Needless to say, he hasn’t secured a spot in the West Indies national cricket team. The right-arm spinner made his international debut for the West Indies cricket team in 2011.

He is confident that he would make a comeback to the national cricket team in the near future. In fact, he last played for the West Indies cricket team during a T20I game back in 2019.

Yes, you read it right! Sunil Narine hasn’t conceded even a single run and took seven wickets in the seven overs he bowled. This is the first time in the history of the sport that it has happened.

Representing Queen’s Park Cricket Club I in the T&T Cricket Board Premiership Division I game against Clarke Road United at the Queen’s Park Oval in St Clair, Port-of-Spain, he bowled 7 maiden overs and took 7 wickets. Narine’s form is a big boost for KKR heading into the IPL 2023 season.

Meanwhile, Sunil Narine has played six Tests, 65 ODIs and 51 T20Is for West Indies. He took as many as 21 wickets in the purest format of the game. Narine has taken 92 wickets in ODIs and 52 wickets in T20Is.

His last ODI appearance came in 2016 and his last Test appearance came in 2013. Despite being away from international cricket, he made his presence count by playing T20 cricket across the globe.

Sunil Narine has represented as many as 11 teams in his career. He has played for several T20 teams including Kolkata Knight Riders, Dhaka Dynamites, and Cape Cobras.

Besides that, he has also played for Sydney Sixers, Oval Invincibles, Trinidad & Tobago, Montreal Tigers, Trinbago Knight Riders, Quetta Gladiators, Lahore Qalandars, and Guyana Amazon Warriors.

Narine has played as many as 148 games in the Indian Premier League. The veteran took 152 wickets to his name. Besides that, he has slammed 4 half-centuries to his name.

Moreover, he maintained a superb strike rate of 162.7. Sunil Narine registered his individual best score of 75. He has bagged 7 four-wicket hauls and 1 five-wicket haul to his name in the IPL.
