“He will grow a couple of inches taller by this evening,” said Ravi Shastri, a former Indian head coach, as he praised the batting legend on Star Sports during a match commentary. After Kohli scored his 28th Test century, a number of legendary players, including former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer and legendary batter Virender Sehwag, praised him.

Kohli’s knock gives India the much-needed lead over Australia

After scoring 59 runs on Day 3 of the fourth Test match between India and Australia in Ahmedabad, Kohli resumed his innings. In 141 innings, Kohli, regarded as one of the best batters in all formats, scored 27 Test centuries. However, the 34-year-old batsman needed 42 innings to score his 28th Test century. Kohli has scored 75 international centuries for Team India as a batsman.

At Tea on Day 4 of the fourth Test match, Kohli led Rohit Sharma‘s Team India to 475 for five while remaining unbeaten on 135 (291 balls). During the final Border-Gavaskar Trophy match, Kohli also became the third fastest player to score 4,000 Test runs in India. Kohli scored his last century in 2019 against Bangladesh, prior to his batting masterclass against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy decider.

With one day left to go, India has to pump their gas and bowl out Australia fast enough if they wish to have a chance at winning the match.
