Virender Sehwag Head Coach: Virender Sehwag, former Indian Opener, revealed his interest in the role of head coach for the Indian Cricket Team back in 2017.

Virender Sehwag was approached by Virat Kohli and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Amitabh Choudhary in 2017. In regards to the possibility of becoming the Indian cricket team’s head coach.
During their meeting, Choudhary informed Virender Sehwag that there were issues between Virat Kohli and then-coach Anil Kumble. So, they were searching for a candidate to occupy the role.
Choudhary also mentioned that Kumble’s contract would expire after the Champions Trophy in 2017. So Sehwag could travel to West Indies with the team.

Virender Sehwag decision to apply for the position was largely influenced by the fact that he was approached by Virat Kohli and Amitabh Choudhary. He has no regrets about his career, however, and is grateful for the opportunities that he had.
