IND vs AUS: KS Bharat throw hits AUS opener, Usman Khawaja, video goes viral
Throughout the day, the Australian opener caused frustration for the Indian bowlers. Despite their efforts, Usman Khawaja remained difficult to dismiss, leading India to experiment with various methods to send him back to the pavilion. In the 71st over of the game, one such attempt was made.
Mohammad Shami bowled a fiery bouncer to Khawaja from around the wicket, which the opener ducked. However, he was unaware that the wicketkeeper could throw the ball from behind him. As Khawaja regained his balance and got down on one knee, KS Bharat seized the opportunity to run him out from behind the stumps.
Despite Bharat’s attempt, the ball missed the wickets and instead hit Khawaja, leaving him in shock. Bharat quickly made his way to Khawaja to apologize for the misguided throw, and the two shared a lighthearted moment. Virat Kohli, who was positioned at slip, was taken aback by the throw, while the Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, appeared uninterested.
The hosts had nothing from Day 1 except for the four wickets they took in the first two sessions. Along with Khawaja, Australian all-rounder Cameron Green played an unbeaten knock of 49 runs till the end of the day. Indian bowlers who baffled the Australian team in the whole series looked clueless in front of the Khawaja-Green duo.
