WPL 2023: It is good to see women cricketers shining at the highest level in this male-dominated sport. Back in those days, there were hardly any opportunities for women to showcase their talent.
Coming to the women cricketers, they hardly got sponsors for their kits. Moreover, men’s cricket has always been the talk of the town for their achievements, results, and so on.
While the men cricketers thrived in international and domestic cricket, the women cricketers were playing only international fixtures.
Moreover, they didn’t get enough recognition much like the male cricketers. However, as the years progressed, the BCCI decided to give some priority even to women’s cricket.

This is precisely the reason why the Board of Control for Cricket in India decided to launch the Women’s Premier League (WPL) for the first time in the history of Indian cricket.
As many as five teams will be taking part in the competition. They are none other than Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and UP Warriorz.

WPL 2023 will well and truly transform Women’s cricket globally. Moreover, it is really good for the sport actually. Thus, India will further grow as a powerhouse in cricket.
