RCB Qualification scenario, WPL 2023: The inaugural WPL campaign for RCB is the one to forget for girls in Red and Black as they have lost all of their five encounters in the ongoing WPL. There is still some probability that the team could go further to the playoffs. Let’s look at the RCB Qualification scenario.
Currently placed at the bottom of the WPL Table with zero points and -2.1 NRR, the team has displayed poor performance throughout the campaign, so far. Losing all of their matches with big margins which took their NRR below the -2 mark.
RCB’s position at the points table does not suit the squad strength the team possesses with the likes of Smriti Mandhana, Richa Ghosh, and Renuka Singh. Along with the talented domestic players, the team has some exceptional marquee players such as Ellyse Perry, Megan Schutt, and Heather Knight.
There are many reasons behind the team’s poor performance in WPL, one of those is their captain Smriti Mandhana’s bad form in the tournament as she could score only 88 runs in five matches so far.

WPL 2023: Let’s look at RCB Qualification Scenario
It appears highly unlikely for Smriti Mandhana‘s team to make it to the playoffs as Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI) are currently far ahead in terms of points. However, there is an outside chance for the team to make it into the top three and get into the knockouts.
The tournament format says that the team at the top of the table by the end of the league stage will secure a direct berth in the finals, while the second and third-placed teams will compete with each other in an Eliminator match to determine which team will advance to the final.
Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC) have already secured eight points each, which Royal Challengers Bangalore cannot match since they only have three matches left to play. As a result, the team is unable to secure a top-two finish.

For RCB to secure third place and qualify for the Eliminator match, they will need to win all their remaining matches against UP Warriorz, Mumbai Indians, and Gujarat Giants to accumulate a total of six points.
RCB’s current position leaves them heavily dependent on the outcomes of other matches as well. In addition to winning their last three matches, RCB will also need the UP Warriorz, who are currently in third place with four points, to lose all of their remaining four matches.
Furthermore, the RCB Qualification scenario will also require the Gujarat Giants (GG) to win no more than one of their remaining four matches. Even if RCB ends up tied on points with another team, their poor NRR will decrease their chances of advancing.
