BAN vs ENG: Rehan Ahmed etched his name into the record books after he became England’s youngest men’s ODI player. He created this record when he made his debut for England cricket against Bangladesh.
Rehan Ahmed featured for the England cricket team in the third ODI at Chattogram on Monday. When he was 18 years and 205 days old, Rehan Ahmed received his cap from senior cricketer Adil Rashid.
For the unversed, Rehan Ahmed recently became England’s youngest-ever men’s Test cricketer. England Cricket took to their official Twitter handle and wished the youngster the best of luck.
The caption of the post states that it was a special moment for Rehan Ahmed. “A special moment before the start of play today… You’ve done yourself and your family proud, @RehanAhmed__16 ❤️”

Meanwhile, England skipper Jos Buttler lauded the youngster and also expressed his excitement about Rehan Ahmed’s potential. “Rehan’s a really exciting talent,” Jos Buttler was quoted as saying by Mirror.

Rehan Ahmed scripted history as he became England’s youngest men’s ODI player when he made his debut against Bangladesh in the third ODI.
Bangladesh cricket team were bowled out for 246 runs at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram. Shakib Al Hasan top-scored with 75 runs including 7 boundaries.
“He’s still a very young man – just a teenager. We’re excited about his development and where we think he can go and it’s great to have him in and around the England setup. Someone like Adil Rashid has been such a star performer for us for a long period of time, Rehan getting to spend time with him and discuss bowling and watching each other bowl will be a huge benefit to him and a big step in his development,” Jos Buttler added.
“We’re really excited to have someone with so much talent, not just with the ball, with the bat as well. We’re looking forward to watching him develop and hopefully turning himself into a brilliant international cricketer,” the England captain said.
