CSK Twitter handle mocks Dhoni and team for slow batting

Chennai Super Kings have been infective this season, as they have suffered 7th loss in this year of IPL. CSK played against Rajasthan Royals lead by Steve Smith. at Abu Dhabi. Both teams were looking for 2 points to advance to the 5th spot.

But it was RR who came on top of CSK and had a thumping 7 wicket win over CSK lead by MS Dhoni. From the Chennai Super Kings fan view, they had a very poor performance batting first. It was disheartening for them to see the Batsmen performance in such a crucial fixture.

CSK won the toss and MS Dhoni elected to bat first. This year of IPL chase has been difficult due to the slowing of the pitch in the 2nd inning of the match. Thus, CSK were eager to put a good total on board for RR.

But that wasn’t the case, CSK lost early wickets and made 125 runs only. Surprisingly Dhoni and Jadeja played well in the middle order to lead them to a decent total.

CSK Poor Batting vs RR

Ravindra Jadeja 35* off 30 and MS Dhoni 28 runs were top scorers for CSK. no other Chennai batsman was able to cross the 30-run mark. CSK batsman looked struggling against spinners of Rajasthan Royals (RR) – Rahul Tewatia (4-0-18-1) and Shreyas Gopal (4-0-14-1).

Rajasthan captain Smith’s strategy of using spin bowlers worked, as they curtailed CSK total to 125 runs only. The middle over of spins made it difficult for CSK players to score regularly. CSK lost early wickets and then couldn’t recover from it soon enough.

The social media response has been very critical this season. Fans have taken their teams and players on target on poor performance. Chennai fans have a bad time this season as they have the worst season in IPL history. This season Twitter and Facebook have been full of memes on CSK and the team as they show a lack of character and intent while batting.

CSK Twitter Account Self-humor Post to Cheer Fans

As mentioned fans have taken a hit on the player for performance, but now it came to a point where CSK Twitter handle posted a self-humored post. It seems it CSK Twitter couldn’t take the loss and be disheartened. Here’s a tweet they posted after CSK’s red-ball like inning.

However, keeping all criticism aside, CSK really started bowling well. Deepak Chahar and Josh Hazelwood had a great spell and took three early wickets. Mush like their batting they started bowling like test match in the powerplay. But they were neutralized by the performance of Buttler as he scored 7p runs of 48 balls. To CSK disadvantage, the ball stopped turning as compared to 1st inning. Jos Buttler played a very good inning and lead RR to much required 2 points.

Another issue sparked on the post-match comment of MS Dhoni. Kris Srikkanth criticized CSK captain MS Dhoni for his “did not see the spark in some of our youngsters” comment. Dhoni was questioned on picking the likes of Jadhav and Piyush Chawla ahead of young players.

Kris Srikkanth reacted sharply to the comments while speaking to Star Sports Tamil. He started by mentioning how great MS Dhoni has been for India and CSK but wasn’t happy with his views after the RR loss. The 60-year-old slammed Dhoni’s “believing in the process” comment as well and said, “I won’t accept what Dhoni is saying. This talk of process, process… I won’t agree with that. You’re talking about process, but the process of selection itself is wrong.”

“A guy like Jagadeesan… you’re saying youngsters don’t have spark, does Kedar Jadhav have spark? Did Piyush Chawla show spark? Come on, this is all ridiculous, I will not accept his answers today. By going on and on about the process, CSK’s tournament is going to end.

By saying that they will give opportunities from now to youngsters… come on, Jagadeesan showed some spark. At least Karn Sharma was getting wickets even if he was expensive. Piyush Chawla was brought into the attack after the match was done and dusted. Dhoni is a great cricketer, there is no doubt about that but I won’t accept him saying that the ball didn’t grip. I won’t accept that,” Kris Srikkanth added.
