Inter Miami offered a proposal to sign Barcelona striker Luiz Suarez on a free transfer.
Inter Miami is credited with interest to sign Luiz Suarez from Barcelona once his contract expires with Catalan giants. According to Mundo Deportivo, one of the outlets in Barcelona claimed Uruguay international has received an offer from first-year club Inter Miami.
The 33-year-old has been linked to MLS in previous years too. Recently Inter Miami coowned by Manchester United icon David Beckham offered a transfer bid to Luis Suarez for the next summer.
In 2014, Luiz Suarez was brought to Barcelona from Liverpool for a transfer fee of £73.55million. A huge amount was paid to bring him to Nou camp, however, he proved himself as one of the finest strikers after Lionel Messi in Barcelona.
Suarez six season stint at Barcelona
Suarez has diligently worked to keep Barcelona win silverware and titles so far. He has given performances worth writing his name in the history of Barcelona. Uruguay national team striker has racked up 196 goals and provided 109 assists in 281 appearances for Barcelona.
Other than bagging goals for Barcelona, he has also scored 59 goals in 113 games for his country. During his career at Camp Nou, he has won four La Liga titles and also one Champions League title. Suarez has become Barcelona’s second top scorer following the six-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi. The Argentina ace has a massive record of 633 goals.
Suares only has a year left in his six-year deal with Barcelona. He will become a free agent in June 2021 and his early departure would require a significant fee. But, The 33-year old has expressed his desire to extend his stay at La Liga powerhouse for a year.
There are a number of clubs waiting for Suarez to end his stint at Camp Nou. But there comes a proposal to rescue him. If the striker managed to feature himself in 60% of fixtures during the next season. Then he shall receive a 12-month extension from Barcelona.
Mundo Deportivo also suggested that Suarez is not willing to leave Barcelona before 2022. The same publication also claimed that David Beckham is keen to bring the left-footed striker to join his ranks once his contract expires.
Suarez according to Beckham would become popular among Miami’s Hispanic community other than his obvious quality. In no time he would also become League top striker should he choose the move. After Rodolfo Pizzaro, he would become Miami’s second marquee signing.
Uruguay teammate Nicolas Lodeiro talked about A move to MLS
Uruguay teammate and Seattle Sounders Midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro also revealed that Suarez has been linked with a move to MLS in the past. He also suggested that Suarez has investigated about MLS from him.
He wanted to play for Barcelona and has really Made himself comfortable with everything. But, Suarez has also expressed his fondness for the league while talking to Lodeiro about it. The Midfielder believes that sooner or later the striker would join the MLS League. He also asked the club to convince Barcelona and make him join the league.
