With less than 24 hours left for the transfer window to close, new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is desperate to get the PSG defender David Luiz back at the Stamford Bridge. The Brazilian centre-back is thought to be open to returning for a fee of £32m. After Jose Mourinho sold David Luiz for a world record £50 million for a defender, Chelsea fans are eager to see the Brazilian back in West London. According to reports, Chelsea have made a surprise £32 Million move for current PSG defender. After failing to capture the services either of AC Milan’s Alessio Romagnoli and Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly, Chelsea are desperate to sign a good centre-back.
The 29 year old could be heading back to Chelsea after playing 2 seasons at PSG. The experienced Brazilian was substituted last weekend by new PSG coach Unai Emery, after he gave away a penalty in PSG’s defeat to Monaco.
Chelsea fans have taken to Social Media regarding their club being linked to the Brazilian centre-back. The 29 year old will be a brilliant defensive duo with John Terry and can solve Chelsea’s defensive problems of last season.
Luiz played for the West London club for about three and a half years before leaving to the French Club back in 2014 for £50m. However, the Brazilian might not be the part of the plans of new PSG Coach, Unai Emery and may look to return back to England before the current transfer window closes.
It will be interesting to see in what role Antonio Conte utilizes the Brazilian international, if the move does indeed go through.
