IPL franchisee Delhi Capitals have responded to Kareena Kapoor’s wish for her son to play in the IPL in the future. Like many others, Kareena is also an ardent cricket fan and is enjoying the clash of the big guns in the IPL this year.
Kareena Kapoor Post
Kareena Kapoor showed her son’s love for cricket in her latest Instagram post as he yielded a bat. Taimur made most of his time on the field and as a proud mother, Kareena posted the picture on social media.
The caption of the picture read, “Any place in the IPL? I can play too”. It went viral within a very short span of time as several people showed their love and appreciation for Taimur.
Taimur is already a celebrity on social media and is adored by a number of people. The Twitterati were taken aback by the sheer cuteness that oozed off Kareena’s Insta post.
Delhi Capitals Response
Delhi Capitals went onto respond almost immediately on Kareena Kapoor’s query. They replied, “We’d love to see him roar with us. A true Nawab always belongs to the Capital city.”
Their witty response to the ace actress’s Instagram post won the hearts of many Twitter users. Several people responded to the post as well as DC’s reply and lauded both Kareena and Taimur for their love for the gentleman’s game.
Delhi Capitals In The IPL This Year
Delhi Capitals, unlike other years, are maintaining their winning form in the IPL this year. Under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer, the Capitals have managed to win tough matches as well. They are currently at the top of the league table with 14 points from 9 matches.
Their last win came in a tight contest against Chennai Super Kings on Saturday. CSK scored a decent 179 runs as they batted first. They got off to a bad start as Sam Curran was out for a duck in the opening over.
HARD FOUGHT CONTEST
However, Faf Du Plessis, Ambati Rayudu, and Shane Watson did well to help their side reach a fighting total after a slow start. Faf top scored with 58 runs off 47 balls and Rayudu and Watto slotted in with 45 (not out) and 36 respectively.
Ravindra Jadeja finished with a flurry of sixers as he remained unbeaten on 33 off just 13 balls.
The Capitals also lost Prithvi Shaw on the score of zero but it was Shikhar Dhawan who made CSK pay for their mistakes.
The in-form southpaw notched up his maiden century in the IPL. He carried his bat through and helped his side win the match with 101 runs off just 58 balls.
