Red Devils midfielder Jesse Lingard is all set for a new contract at Old Trafford despite signing his previous contract, eleven months prior.
Lingard has been in a rich vein of form as of late and has secured his place at the Old Trafford with impressive performances this season. The 25-year-old made his statement this season with prolific goal scoring and the ability to change the course of the game single handedly.
The England International has been a major revelation for Jose Mourinho this season as the star has gone on to score 13 goals this season, with only striker Romelu Lukaku ahead of him.
Lingard has been the part of the Red Devils since the tender age of seven and has made his way through the academy and several loan deals to finally assert his place in the sqaud with Manchester United
Lingard will see a major wage hike in new deal
The midfielder extended his contract with the Red Devils for four years with an option to extend another year in April 2017, the deal saw the star earn £75k per week. But, Lingard has met several targets which was included in the deal.
The new contract will see Lingard earn six figures a week with the wage increasing from the current amount to 100,000 a week. Lingard is shutting off his critics who felt that offering the star a new deal was not the best idea. He has bagged 8 goals and 4 assists in the Premier League this season.
Lingard has been instrumental for the Red Devils with his style of play and threat in front of the goal. The midfielder helped the side secure several points with crucial goals against Chelsea, Arsenal and Burnley. The deal could see the 25-year-old secure his place with the Red Devils for years to come as they look to be a threat in English football once again.
