Eden Hazard is among the world’s best players, but to be absolutely alone at the world’s summit, he has to leave Chelsea. Have a look at why he must take this step.
Eden Hazard has started life under Maurizio Sarri in blistering form and leads the Premier League’s scoring charts with seven goals in eight appearances for the Blues. Chelsea are keen on extending his stay, which is of less than two years as things stand. But the Blues’ talisman is hesitant on signing the offer amid his desire to play for Real Madrid.
At the moment, it is very arguable if Eden Hazard is the world’s best player, but he is among the top five or ten at this moment. At the FIFA Awards this year, he stood seventh in a list which saw Luka Modric, Cristiano Ronaldo and Mohamed Salah occupy the top three places after superb years.
Former Chelsea player Boudewijn Zenden is of the belief that the 27-year-old has to go to either Barcelona or Real Madrid in order to satisfy his wishes of being the world’s best player. In the last ten years, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have run a duopoly by running the show but if Hazard goes to Spain, then he can try and do the same too as per Zenden.
'He needs a move to Barcelona or Real Madrid to be classed with the best in the world'

“It will be hard for Chelsea to keep him, with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain around,” Zenden told the Mirror. “He needs a move to Barcelona or Madrid to be up there, classed with the best in the world. Yes, he has done it in England. But with that platform of having played for the likes of Barcelona or Real, that is what they look for when they decide the player of the year.”
Eden Hazard has flirted with Real Madrid an innumerable number of times, so a move to Barcelona can surely be ruled out. The Whites must make their move for the Belgian who would fit in brilliantly. In all probability, they will do it next summer in order to get him on a cheap just like they did with Thibaut Courtois this summer.
