Arsenal technical director Edu might be forced to make an early transfer decision over Matteo Guemdouzi’s future. The 21-year old Frenchman is on a loan stint to Bundesliga club Hertha Berlin and has been impressing so far since his debut. The midfielder was frozen out under Mikel Arteta and thus a loan move was secured in the transfer window.
Matteo Guendouzi turned his fate around at Hertha following his long loan move for the 2020-21 season from Arsenal. The move took place after Arsenal failed to secure a permanent move for the midfielder in the summer transfer window. After he has fallen out of favor under Mikel Arteta.
The loan move could happen after Guendouzi and Mikel Arteta’s relationship developed a major tension. Guendouzi failed to secure a place in the squad under new manager Mikel Arteta following a series of incidents.
Moreover, it was the ugly clash with Brighton player Neal Maupay in a 2-1 Premier League defeat at the end of last season. That completely excluded the Frenchman from the first team training session.

However, as they say, things eventually happen for good so does the move to Hertha proved. The U-21 international has made a bright start in Germany and has become a regular player of their first team. Ever since he broke into the first team last month the Bundesliga outfit has only lost just one out of the seven games played.
Guendouzi has scored a goal and an assist in the seven appearances. The rocket goal was seen in a 1-1 draw with Borussia Moenchengladbach last weekend. It was something that Arsenal fans always wanted from him at the Emirates. Der Tagesspiegel has reported that the German side is keen to sign him on a permanent deal following his impressive start to life in Bundesliga.
Hertha’s boss hailed Guendouzi

The German outfit is actively looking for the options to sign the French midfielder in the January transfer window. As the transfer window is looming. Bruno Labbadia piled up praise for Guendouzi, hailing his leadership qualities and technical abilities.
Labbadia in an interview with a German publication said that they are very happy to sign him and he is very valuable for the club.
The 21-year old is a good footballer who has a sense of space and is technically very strong. Along with this, the manager said that he is indeed young yet he gives instructions. Matteo is someone who has no reservations.
Looking towards the eagerness to secure a permanent move for Guendouzi. Hertha would surely try to make an early move for the midfielder in order to beat any competition for him in the transfer market. While Guendouzi is happy with life in German, Arsenal may recoup the transfer fee before his Arsenal exit.
The midfielder is tied up in a contract with Arsenal till 2022. So Arsenal would have their last chance in the summer to weigh up an offer for their French midfielder. Mikel Arteta and Edu could get financial help from Guendouzi’s exit as the club have few recruitments plans for a second half-season.
