Arsenal looking to makes some moves in the January window. Unai Emery speaks of Arsenal and Arteta.
Arsenal are in rebuild mode. There are players coming in along with some players heading out. The club has financial restrictions terms of the amount they will be able to spend. Arsenal’s budget is expected to be in and around £20 million.
While it is difficult finding quality players with such restrictions, Arsenal does have options available. The club is showing interest in a variety of players. Norwich’s Buendia, Brighton Yves Bissouma and now you can add Pau Torres to the list.
Unai Emery Arsenal’s ex-manager has heaped praise towards Pau Torres. Arsenal’s defensive troubles are no secret. The club needs some solidarity in defense, maybe a proper pair which could play day in and day out.
Torres could be that player for the Gunners. The Spaniard was linked to a number of top clubs in the last window too. But then the heat cooled off and he ended up staying with Villarreal.

However, Emery now manages Villarreal and it would be difficult to get a sweet deal in the current window. Another key thing would be that Arsenal could find themselves priced out if they pursue Torres now.
His valuation is around £45.2 million which quite frankly is something Arsenal cannot afford right now. But they can certainly keep an eye on Torres for the coming future.
Pau Torres could be an ideal partner for Gabriel Magalhaes

Unai Emery has given a few big statements in these few weeks. Recently he spoke about the potential Nicolas Pepe has and how he needs to step up his game for the Gunners. The coach has taken a similar approach for Pau Torres.
“Pau Torres is an amazing player – I think he’s top,” Emery told football London. “I’ve been a coach in Sevilla, PSG, Arsenal and I’ve never seen a centre back like Pau Torres.”
“I think he’s going to play at the highest level, he’s playing now in the national team but he can play in the top teams in Europe very soon.” Emery could be very right about Pau Torres.
Torres has been playing really well this season and has become a key part of the team. He has started each end every game for Villarreal this season and is a huge reason for the success the club has enjoyed in the La Liga table.
David Luiz, Mustafi, and Sokratis are all in the last six months of their contract. Pau Torres could be an ideal signing for the Gunners in the next window. However, will they get this opportunity still remains a doubt.
The Los Blancos are also taking an interest in the Spanish International. He has already made the Spanish senior team and has impressed a lot of people. If Real Madrid goes for him Arsenal might lose their chance.
