ENG vs IND: Deepak Chahar reveals that he will not be fit in time for the England series

ENG vs IND: India were hosting South Africa in the fifth match on Sunday, June 19. Moreover, the game was taking place at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, India.

India were coming into this fixture after winning against South Africa in the fourth T20 match on Friday. South Africa captain Temba Bavuma went on to win the toss and he decided to have a bowl first.

The men in blue were off to a lazy start with the quick wicket of Ruturaj Gaikwad. A similar trend continued in terms of the middle order. But Dinesh Karthik helped India get to 169 runs.

South Africa had a horrible start and the trend continued till the end. The Proteas were technically all out for 87 runs as Temba Bavuma did not come to bat again. India won the match by 82 runs.

Dinesh Karthik went on to win the man of the match award in the fourth T20 match. Moreover, he scored 55 runs from 27 balls with a strike rate of 203.70.

The fifth match unfortunately was abandoned after a play of just around three overs. It was due to the constant rainfall in Bengaluru during the match time.

Indian fast bowler Deepak Chahar has gone on to reveal that he will not be fit in time for the T20 series against England. Deepak Chahar was injured just before the IPL season.

He said, “I am bowling four to five overs at one go as per my rehab programme right now. My recovery is going pretty well and I think it will take another four to five weeks for me to get match fit.

It’s a step-by-step process as far as recovery is concerned. I don’t think I will be fit for England T20s. Once I am match fit, I will need to play some club-level games to check my fitness.

I can’t say that but I will definitely try and get fit by then. Let’s see.”
