Since 2004, this was the first time when England won 6 test matches out of 7. While earlier it was Jonny Bairstow who performed brilliantly against New Zealand and took the series by storm.

The first test match was clinched by visitors South Africa who had an invincible pace attack. But hosts bounced back in the second test match to level the series by 1-1. For the visitors, it was Kagiso Rabada who was most effective throughout the series and was the leading wicket taker.

From England, the pair Anderson – Broad dominated the visitors with their class bowling single handedly. No doubt they are the stars of England’s national cricket team.
