Alan Shearer insisted that the chances of Scotland or Wales coming into the group adds some extra excitement. This suggests that England is not underwhelmed with the draw.

Well that’s one thing of not having that group of death, isn’t it. You’re looking and thinking it’s pretty much open. I have to say I’m pleased that Scotland, Wales or Ukraine have been put in England’s group. It just adds that little bit more excitement in that group, I think. When you look at Iran and the USA, you think, okay England. But it is going to be Scotland or Wales, then that makes it that bit tougher.” said Alan Shearer in an interview about England’s group.

Shearer also said that even after the previous two heartbreaks in the Semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup and finals of Euro 2020. England will go to the 2022 World Cup with full confidence and hopefully achieve what they were trying for so long.
