EPL Power Rankins: Top 5 Wingers in the Premier League after Matchday 29

As we continue to look at the top performers in the Premier League after matchday 29, here are our top 5 winger.

A little shimmy-shammy on the wings and cutting back through the defenders is what wingers were all about. But not anymore. With the likes of Eden Hazard and Raheem Sterling, wingers play a much crucial role for a team than before.

5. Sadio Mane:

There was a time at the start of this season when Sadio Mane and Firminho were blamed for not helping Mo Salah in front of the goal. But look how things have changed, the Senegal international has now scored 14 goals in the league with 6 of them coming in the last 7 games, while Salah has bagged just 3 in those 7 games. Mane scored a brace against Watford but the 26-year old was just as ineffective as his attacking parterns against Manchester United and Everton.

4. Leroy Sane:

The German is currently enjoying one hell of a season with 8 goals and 9 assists in 24 league appearances. But with Riyad Maharez getting a few more chances to be in form for the business end of the season, Sane did not have a huge role to play in this week’s league games. The youngster played just the first 57 minutes of the game against West Ham and was an unused sub against Bournemouth. But with Bernardo Silva going back in the midfield due to Kevin De Bruyne’s injury, expect the German to be busy for the next few weeks.

3. Son Heung-Min:

From being Premier League’s hottest player in Harry Kane’s absence to being insignificant for three straight games with Harry Kane, a lot has changed for Son in the last one week. The South Korean had scored in four straight games since coming back from the Asian Games and led the Spurs attack in Kane’s absence. But after the Englishman’s return, Son has simply done nothing against Chelsea, Arsenal and Burnley, where Tottenham collected just one point.

But his season tally is still an impressive one – 11 goals and 5 assists!

2. Eden Hazard:

After being out of touch for almost a month, both Chelsea and Eden Hazard are starting to look like they can still turn this season around. After winning 2-0 against Tottenham, the Blues won yet another London Derby against Fulham, where Eden Hazard delivered a Man of the Match performance. The Belgian provided an assist for Jorginho’s thunderbolt and had an overall great game. The winger’s tally for the season now is: 12 goals and 11 assists.

1. Raheem Sterling:

While Liverpool have the best players in defensive lists, Manchester City have the best players where it matters, midfield, wingers and forwards. And there is simply no one better than Raheem Sterling when it comes to the wingers in the Premier League right now. The Englishman has scored 12 goals and has assisted 9 in 26 appearances. And to know his importance in Pep Guardiola’s squad, go check out how Sterling influenced the game after coming on against West Ham.
