Erling Haaland Transfer News: The Norwegian international was being scouted by Manchester United for a potential transfer. But Haaland reportedly snubbed the Red Devils as the club “lacked ambition”.
The Borussia Dortmund striker was one of the biggest transfer prospects heading into the summer transfer window. Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, Barcelona, and Real Madrid were hot on the heels of the player.
After months of debate, Erling Haaland has eventually chosen to join Manchester City as per reports. The official announcement of this deal is expected within a week.
Following the death of Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola, the Italian “Super Agents” family members will now govern the deal. The final terms of the transfer are yet to be agreed upon by Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund.

Erling Haaland Transfer News: As per the Metro, Manchester United had approached the Norwegian for a potential summer transfer. But Haaland reportedly turned them down for not being “ambitious” enough.
According to the report, Erling Haaland felt that the club is not on the right track currently. Hence, the Norwegian declined a move to Old Trafford as he felt that Manchester United cannot fulfill his ambitions at the moment.
Manchester United’s best chance to capture Erling Haaland was under the tutorship of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The former United manager has coached Haaland at Norway’s Molde FC. Hence the duo shares a very close relationship.
But a horrific 2021/22 season saw United cut ties with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Having replaced the Norwegian with Ralf Rangnick, the club’s form did not improve. Hence they will miss out on next season’s UEFA Champions League as well.
Manchester United had earlier tried to sign Haaland from RB Salzburg in January 2020. But the striker chose to move on to Borussia Dortmund instead. The Red Devils certainly missed their chance as Erling Haaland had scored 85 goals in 88 appearances for Dortmund.

Erling Haaland Transfer News: Manchester City have reportedly signed the Borussia Dortmund striker on a five-year deal. The Sky Blues will reportedly pay around £200 million to complete all the formalities including the player’s salary.
Owing to this, Manchester United and the rest of City’s Premier League rivals need to be even more “scared” of the Sky Blues. With Erling Haaland at the helm, goal-scoring would certainly not be a problem at the club.
With the acquisition of Dortmund striker, Pep Guardiola can finally fill the position that was vacated by Sergio Aguero. Hence it has to be seen if City can make the most out of this mega-deal.
