Manchester City striker Erling Haaland’s agent Rafaela Pimenta has recently spoken about a possible contract extension for the Norwegian forward.
Erling Haaland joined defending English Premier League champions Manchester City at the start of the season when the Citizens paid his release clause worth £51 million to his former team Borussia Dortmund.
Despite many questions over the transfer, the Norweigian striker became the most important player for Pep Guardiola’s team. The forward has already netted fifteen goals in the English Premier League in his first ten matches.
On top of that, he has netted five more goals in the UEFA Champions League. Overall he is currently one of the most in-form players in the world and is among the most loved players in the blue part of Manchester.
Haaland’s to Stay More Years in Manchester City
Now according to many reports Manchester City wants to extend the contract of Erling Haaland at the end of the season. The new contract will see a significant boost from his current wages.
City have earlier done the same thing to many of their superstars to keep them at the Etihad for many years. But with Haaland, the situation is a bit different.
Recently Erling Haaland’s father told in a documentary that his son wants to challenge himself by playing in all the leagues. He might stay 3-4 years in a club and then join another one.
Now just after this incident, a release clause worth £200 million was revealed in Erling Haaland’s contract. this release clause can only be triggered by teams from outside of England from the summer of 2024. The amount will also decrease in the next few years.
This gave rise to many questions. But now his agent Rafaela Pimenta has confirmed that they will like to discuss a new contract with Manchester City.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Pimenta said“I hope so!” She responded when asked if a new contract would be discussed soon: “If they [City] want to discuss today, we’d be happy. Why not? Always good!”
Since the departure of Sergio Aguero, Manchester City did not have a proper talisman until they signed Erling Haaland. With Haaland at his best, City are looking like one of the most dangerous teams in the world.
Now if he decides to extend his contract for more years, it will be just the thing City needs at the moment to slam all the transfer talks of Erling Haaland.
