Even Thierry Henry Stands up for Ranieri

This isn’t the first time that Claudio Ranieri has been sacked from the position of manager. Last time when he was sacked from Chelsea, he had received little support. But this time it was different. This time, everyone around the world has been shaken. This has led to many football legends, including Thierry Henry, to stand up for Italian.

Claudio Ranieri was responsible for the greatest “upset” in sporting history. He managed the Foxes to victory, against all the odds in the world. He even received the FIFA manager of the year, for the team’s performance. But this time, he was on the other side of the table. Something that the Foxes couldn’t accept. So they wanted him to go, in a hope that they would recover from their situation. But that would only be possible if he was the reason for their failure.

While reacting to the sacking, Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry did not stop himself from saying “Everything is wrong. Is he not allowed to have a bad moment? I hear that his signings weren’t good enough or there are problems with the coaching staff. Behind closed doors, a lot of stuff must be happening. It doesn’t mean he has to go. The easiest thing to do is to sack the manager because you can’t clear the whole team out. But he’s just won the league with Leicester.

I saw the tweet of Roberto Mancini, saying he will remain in the history of Leicester. He will stay in the history of football, not only in England but in the world – he won the league with Leicester. Six months after, he’s gone. That’s crazy.

Apart from being disappointed, Henry was surely disgusted with the way Leicester have behaved. Ranieri definitely deserved to continue at Leicester until the time their relegation was confirmed. Anyway, Leicester will not be the first team to win the league title and be relegated the subsequent year.

Henry found it weird, in the way the managers in England were treated. He said, that Ranieri “won the league, he’s gone. Pellegrini won the League Cup last year, he’s gone. Van Gaal won the FA Cup last year, he’s gone. What’s that all about?

He even mentioned that Jose Mourinho was sacked in the following season after he led Chelsea to win the Premier League title. But Henry ended by saying, “It’s still a sad day for me, for football and especially for Ranieri.

A sad day indeed.
