Ex-Juventus manager makes big accusation about Chelsea boss Sarri

Sarri Chelsea

Before joining Chelsea, Maurizio Sarri coached Napoli and got close to winning the Serie A, but Juventus eventually ended up winning the league.

Chelsea had a season to forget in the Premier League last season as they finished fifth on the point table, which would see them play in the Europa League this season. They were many reports that suggested Conte’s relationship with many of their key players was not firm.

Chelsea sacked Conte this summer and bought former Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri to help the club reclaim the lost English Premier League crown. Sarri and his Chelsea kick-started their English Premier League campaign on a positive note as they have earned maximum points from 3 games.

Despite these, former Juventus manager, Lucian Moggi says that the decision to hire Sarri at Chelsea was absurd. “Depending on the players at the club. It’s absurd to hire Sarri at Chelsea after they played with Conte for two years.” said the former Juventus gaffer.

While there is no denying that Antonio Conte’s and Maurizio Sarri’s tactics and styles are different, the players gelled together quickly at Chelsea under Sarri and have so far looked comfortable playing under him. Carlo Ancelotti succeeded Sarri at Napoli and will now look to help win the title.

While the former Juventus gaffer lauded the decision to bring in former Real Madrid boss, he said it would not be the same with Conte or Lippi. He said, “At Napoli, after Sarri, Carlo Ancelotti or Fabio Capello would go well because they play unified football. It wouldn’t be as good with Conte or Marcelo Lippi.”

Napoli president had earlier criticized Sarri and claimed that they had given him everything, but in return they got nothing. Despite increasing criticisms, Sarri has made his entrance into the English Premier League in the best one could. He has helped Chelsea win 3 games consecutively. They will now look to register another victory against Bournemouth on Saturday.

Author’s Take

Sarri will be aiming to achieve success and win trophies with Chelsea. While he had achieved success at Napoli, trophies eluded him. With a World-class squad and players capable of defeating everyone on their days, Chelsea will want to reclaim their Premier League.
