Barcelona and Real Madrid are being considered as favourites to sign Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain in the upcoming summer but it may be a bad move if Barcelona makes it.
Brazil international Neymar left Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain on a world record transfer fee in 2017. However, less than two years after leaving Spain, it is being reported that Neymar could be headed back to the Camp Nou after realizing that going to France was a hit to his ambition.
He is tipped to rejoin Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez and recreate the deadly MSN trio which ruled the footballing for almost three full seasons. The 26-year old’s transfer fee this time out is reported to be in the range of 200 million euros and he may have to settle for a lesser wage given Barcelona’s messed up financial structure at the moment.

While a return is far from close but very much on the cards, former Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has provided his thoughts on the potential reunion between Barcelona and Neymar. He suggested that it may not be a correct step from Barcelona as they may suffer.
“I think it’s not good for Barcelona, but that’s my opinion,” the Dutchman told La Porteria de Beteve. “Neymar is still a young player who can continue to develop. He must first learn to be a team player. Neymar is too individualistic, which is why I think Barcelona should be vigilant before deciding to get him back.”

Louis van Gaal may have created a slightly negative reputation about him during his time at Manchester United, but he is one of the most experienced bosses in the footballing world and has a very good sense of the playing styles of tons of players. And I feel that he has rightly pointed out Neymar’s flaws.
While Barcelona may be ready to sell Ousmane Dembele, there will still be an adverse impact on the team. Lionel Messi is the indispensable player on the right hand side whereas Luis Suarez has two or three years still left in him.  Philippe Coutinho could make way for Neymar and his development and playing time could be hindered. Otherwise, if the former Liverpool forward falls back at midfield, Arthur may have to be benched and he will suffer as well. So basically, Barcelona should not move for Neymar if they want peace in the dressing room.
