Ex-Manchester United Player Calls Paul Pogba “Useless”

Paul Pogba branded “useless” by Eamon Dunphy after United-Liverpool clash.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, to say the least, has had a less than stellar start to his season back at Manchester United. Paul Pogba had earlier played for United under the wings of Sir Alex Ferguson but had been let go in 2009. 6 years later, United paid the gigantic amount of a £100 million to bring the Frenchman back to the club. After a wonderful performance in the 2014 World Cup, it seemed like the perfect move for United.

Ex-Irish International and former United youth player Eamon Dunphy deemed Paul Pogba “useless” and criticised him for lackluster display in the United-Liverpool match. He went further ahead in saying that Pogba was “never worth the £100 million”. Dunphy exclaimed that the Frenchman who cost a world-record fee to bring would’ve still been expensive at even £2o million.

Pogba came under fire because of a very weak performance in a 1-1 draw against Liverpool at Old Trafford this Saturday. Pogba missed an excellent early chance during the game when both teams were in a tense deadlock. He later slipped up in the box which awarded Liverpool a penalty which James Milner converted.

Speaking to RTE (h/t Goal), Eamon Dunphy held back no punches and fired shots aimed at Paul Pogba and his inability to prove himself worthy of the £100 million it took to bring him to the club. Dunphy claims that the 23-year old lacks the ability expected of a player that costs a record-breaking transfer fee.

Dunphy: “Pogba was never worth £100 million. At £20 million he would have been expensive. With the money they’ve spent with Mourinho and [Louis] van Gaal, they should really have a better team.”

Eamon Dunphy, who was a youth prospect for Manchester United in early 1960’s singles out Pogba’s attitude as the root cause of all his woes at Old Trafford.

“Paul Pogba is very immature. He plays like a kid. He is not worth the money they paid for him, and he won’t be worth the money they paid for him. He is the elephant in the room. He’s useless.”
