Charles Leclerc is unwavering in his belief that Mercedes will compete against Red Bull and Ferrari for the Formula 1 championship in 2023 and that Lewis Hamilton can spearhead their comeback since the iconic driver “still has it.”

Without a doubt, Charles Leclerc is the favorite to win the 2023 Championship. Leclerc made a great start to the 2022 season but Max Verstappen eventually prevailed in the championship battle.

As he gets ready for a new challenge, Charles Leclerc will try to end Verstappen’s two-year reign of domination. Leclerc will be a serious contender if the SF-23 and Fred Vasseur’s leadership do their magic.

The five-time Grand Prix champion does, however, think that, in contrast to last season, there will be more than two contenders this time around. And he leaves open the potential of Lewis Hamilton making a better comeback.

This season with Ferrari, Charles Leclerc wants to win races and contend for the championship. Charles Leclerc finished second to two-time world champion Max Verstappen last season, which was statistically his greatest F1 season. Two of the first three races were won by Leclerc, who also earned many pole positions and podium finishes.

However, the season was a failure as Charles Leclerc finished second in fewer races than he finished first owing to reliability issues or tactical mistakes made by the team. Overall, the season was disappointing given the potential of the car and what the team produced.

Ferrari, though, is anticipated to make progress in the 2023 season. They now have a new team leader, Fred Vasseur, and have had ample time over the winter to address reliability-related power unit difficulties from the previous season.

Charles Leclerc aims to compete for victories and the championship this season and has no higher expectations for the club.

Charles Leclerc said: “During the automobile unveiling, Clearly, the objective is to succeed. I and the crew are motivated by success. I can’t wait to go back behind the wheel and pursue that title.”
