Another covert jab at his old teams Alpine and McLaren has been made by Fernando Alonso, who claims they were content with fourth position. The two-time world champion asserts that his current team, Aston Martin, is more determined than his previous employers and that the British squad won’t accept anything less.
This year, Fernando Alonso took over for Sebastian Vettel at the Silverstone-based team; in 2023, he will co-star with Lance Stroll. Despite providing spectators with several exciting displays in 2022, the Spaniard struggled to win many games because of dependability difficulties.
Fernando Alonso remarked in a statement prior to the team’s 2023 vehicle debut: “This is very different compared to other teams that I joined in the last few occasions. Maybe they had success in the past and they were just in a comfortable position. They were just fourth and they were happy with fourth.”

Fernando Alonso, a two-time world champion, is optimistic about Aston Martin‘s prospects of winning in 2023 but is cautious to make a firm prediction. The world champion from 2005 and 2006 has signed a multi-year contract with the Silverstone-based team.
Regarding Aston Martin’s chances this season, Alonso says he has “boots on the ground” and anticipates difficult races throughout the season. The Spanish driver hasn’t finished on the podium since the Qatar Grand Prix in 2021, despite not having won a race since 2013.
After Sebastian Vettel announced his retirement from the sport at the conclusion of the 2022 season, the world champion relocated to Aston Martin.
“I have my boots on the ground,” Fernando Alonso commented while speaking at the presentation of the team’s 2023 challenger, AM23. “I cannot promise anyone that this year we would pursue triumphs. If I say that, I will be lying. On the other hand, we also want to build on and improve the car we start with during the season.”

After announcing his move to the Silverstone-based team late last year, Fernando Alonso stunned the Formula One community. He recently asserted that he is confident in his prospects with his new squad for the forthcoming campaign.
Fernando Alonso stated to the media: “I’m glad to close this chapter [at Alpine] and begin with fresh inspiration. Aston Martin, their initiative is extraordinary in terms of the hiring of personnel, the provision of facilities, and the investment they are making. So sure, I believe that wonderful days are ahead.”
The two-time world champion has been replaced at Alpine, and Pierre Gasly will co-star with Esteban Ocon. In the forthcoming season, it will be intriguing to see if Fernando Alonso and the company can compete for victory.
