The team manager of Haas, Guenther Steiner, has voiced his displeasure with the FIA’s uneven rulings on fines for in-race damage to parts. He has notably brought up the Kevin Magnussen penalties that lost Haas points in the Canadian and Singapore Grand Prix.
Guenther Steiner also brought up the issue with Fernando Alonso at the American Grand Prix. In that Haas attempted to have the P7 finish for Alonso overturned at first but ultimately failed.
Guenther Steiner believed that the laws weren’t being followed equally. He thinks that racial control could do a better job of handling these circumstances and that everyone should be subject to the same set of laws.
According to Guenther Steiner, who was speaking to Motorsports.com. “Your system is faulty because the regulations are not the same for everyone. And I think how it was handled from race management was not good.”
