Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly were spotted hanging out together at Lapland Ice Driving, suggesting that they had put their differences in the past behind them. Both Alpine drivers participated in a Castrol-sponsored practice session in Lapland with MotoGP stars Alex Rins and Peter Solberg. Solberg sent the following tweet:
“What a terrific couple of days we had in Lapland with the Castrol family showing off our 600 horsepower DS3 to @OconEsteban, @PierreGASLY, and @Rins42, and having fun sliding about on the ice!”
Throughout the winter break, the two F1 drivers were frequently seen interacting. The two were last spotted in the US enjoying a basketball game with Charles Leclerc. Fans reacted amusingly to seeing Esteban Ocon and Gasly together.
“Glad to see you’re having fun on the ice! Reminds me of when you went rallying at the Rally Monte Carlo”, one fan reacted.
Another fan said, “Looks amazing and so beautiful and like you had fun – Good luck this year to both you & Pierre”
“Yes, envelope, sometimes I forget that Alpine is a French team with two drivers from France and only a different base, alias living in England. Almost meets local pride standards.”, another fan reacted happily.
Pierre Gasly is certain that his Alpine stint will surpass Red Bull
Pierre Gasly believes his time at Alpine will go much more smoothly than his time at Red Bull.
The two teenage French racers faced off against one another at every turn. But when the rivalry heated up, it strained the bond that had been solid since infancy. However, the now-two teammates are taking advantage of the “bonding” time that the supporters feel their team has sanctioned them with after years of disputes and public protest against one another.

Esteban Ocon failed to perform well enough to last more than half a season after being promoted to the squad way too soon. Gasly believes he is now far more capable of meeting the task after four years:
“When I was working at Red Bull, it seemed like an eon ago. But a lot has changed since then, both professionally and personally. I have no doubt that this will be a huge success now that I’m much more certain about it. I feel like I’ve changed a lot personally since 2019, even if you think it was only three years ago.”
It will be intriguing to watch how Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly’s collaboration develops this year.
