Mick Schumacher Will Depart Haas F1 at the Conclusion of the 2022 Season

According to reports, Mick Schumacher will compete for Haas for the final time in the 2022 Formula One Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. It is because the American team will not renew the German driver’s contract after the current campaign.

Mick Schumacher expressed his displeasure with the choice on social media. But he praised the team and Ferrari for the chance he was given. He stated:

“This will be my final race with the Haas F1 Team. I don’t want to keep quiet about how sad I am that our contract will not be renewed. Nevertheless, I want to express my gratitude to Ferrari and Haas F1 for providing me with this chance.”

Mick Schumacher made his Haas debut in 2021 after earlier winning the F2 Championship. However, his first year with the squad was unsuccessful as he and his partner Nikita Mazepin had trouble finding speed.

Guenther Steiner thinks that Hülkenberg’s F1 background and the addition of Kevin Magnussen will improve the team’s foundation and result in considerably higher performance. He stated:

“With almost 200 Formula 1 starts under his belt and a reputation for being a strong, dependable racer. Nico’s expertise and knowledge base are obvious assets to the team.”

Steiner said that he has great hopes for both drivers to propel the team far further up the rankings in the coming season, saying:

These qualities, when combined with Kevin Magnussen’s expertise. It will provide us with a highly respectable and experienced driver lineup that, in our opinion, will help the team advance up the grid.
